Oh man...
This one started out promising, but turned out kinda disappointing. She started as an ink sketch, then I decided to experiment more with pastels. This is only the second time I've used them, so I'm still not very good with them. I feel like I could have done much better, but hey, I'm still learning.
The woman is the tattooed ghost from the third Fatal Frame game. I should also note how hard it was to find good, clear reference images of this character. I had to do a lot of guess work when it came to her tattoos.
Oh and please try to ignore the glare around her eyes and the hair over her shoulder. That's from the flash on my camera reflecting off the ink. =(

Character: Reika Kuze from Fatal Frame III
medium: pastels, ink, charcoal

You picked a tough medium for detail work. The color and overall composition work pretty well. The candles help with the perspective and depth.

I like it a lot. liek I said, maybe the pic was too small for detail work. like steve said pastels don't lend themselves to detail work like other mediums. I think one thing that really helped out lady but hurt you here was that lady had no definitive lines. But I'm still really impressed. And I'm happy to see you working on art again and doing so well. It's very nice to see. you're going to be a great artist one day.

Great! Just great! Paper-candles look here good, and the tattoo women too =D
